Venue and dates
The 5th International Symposium “Charnley Evolution” will be held from Thursday December 3, 2009 to Saturday December 5, 2009 at the: CNIT PARIS LA DEFENSE - 2 place de la Défense - 92053 Paris la Défense
Paris can easily be reached by plane, train or car, as it is located crossroad of Europe. It is served by two international airports and a very convenient railway system. The shuttle buses from Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports arrive down town.
The CNIT is easily accessible:
- by car from Paris: Boulevard Périphérique, exit “La Défense/Porte Maillot”, Avenue Charles de Gaulle, then “Pont de Neuilly” and “La Défense Boulevard circulaire”, exit “La Défense 6”
- by local city bus: 20 lines in total, 100 buses per day
- by metro: “Grande Arche” station, line N° 1 (Château de Vincennes / Grande Arche de la Défense)
- by RER: « Grande Arche » station, line A (Boissy Saint Léger / Saint Germain en Laye)
- by tramway: Val de Seine, Issy les Moulineaux / La Défense
- by train: from Saint-Lazare railway station, direction « Versailles or Saint-Nom la Bretèche (La Verrière / Saint Quentin en Yvelines / La Défense)
Official language
All presentations will be given in French or English. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

The Congress documentation will be available there for pre-registered delegates and for anyone wishing to register on site.
Badges
A name badge will be provided with your registration documents on site (and not mailed out prior to the congress).
Congress Book
The proceedings of the symposium will be published in a book which will present the current and future trends of total hip arthroplasty. The congress book is included in the registration fees. The book may be ordered for the price of 60€ (see online and on the registration form). It will be sent to you within one month after the symposium.
Exhibition
An exhibition (pharmaceutical companies, orthopaedic equipment, instruments and techniques, scientific publications) will be held in the Darwin 1 Hall, Level D of the CNIT, next to the welcome area and the amphitheatre. Insurance & Liability
Charnley 2009 and MCI cannot be held liable for any hindrance or disruption of Congress proceedings arising from political, social, health or economic events or any other unforeseen incidents beyond their control. The congress cancellation conditions shall apply in any case. Registration of a participant entails acceptance of the cancellation conditions.
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health, accident and cancellation insurance before they depart from their countries. Charnley 2009 and MCI as organizers will accept no liability for personal injuries sustained by or for loss or damage to property belonging to congress participants and accompanying persons either during or as a result of the Congress or during all tours and events.

A request for Continuing Medical Education Credits is being validated. More information on the Congress website.
Transportation to the congress
By Train
For participants travelling within France by train on the occasion of the Congress, special fares may be obtained with SNCF (French Railway Network) (only for return tickets). Please tick the appropriate box on the registration form or on the congress website.
